Panakroama
Panakroama
Panakroama is a location-based electroacoustic composition that explores the borderline areas of acoustic perception. The starting point consists of field recordings from the remote regions of the Upper Austrian Kalkalpen and the desert landscape of Montello, Nevada.
The title derives from the work of geographer and sound researcher Joseph Winkler. Analogous to the visual panorama, Panakroama describes the acoustic horizon as a movable, subjectively experienced boundary between sound and noise, between the audible and silence.
